AFC Missenden 0   v Hambleden 1

Hambleden travelled to Great Missenden last Saturday and put in yet another fine performance to come away with all three points.

On a bumpy pitch and with a swirling wind, conditions were difficult for both sides but it was the visitors who had the best chances; early on Kenrick Gordon, Dean Kemp and Steve Sanashee squandered good chances, but the best chance fell to Jamal Maknin from Tommy Martin's corner on 42 minutes Maknin headed just over.

Nine minutes into the second half came then breakthrough and it came to Hambleden.  Martin Cook's fine run down the left ended with a cross in for Sanashee to chest down into the path of Dean Kemp, and he finished superbly into the far corner, giving Missenden keeper Ricky Draper no chance.

A scare followed for Hambleden from the restart; Hambleden 'old boy' Anthony 'Smiley' Frith found himself clean through and one-on-one with Hambleden's keeper Ross Hathaway, but Hathaway stood his ground and Frith shot straight at him.

Hambleden had a great chance to put the game beyond Missenden's reach.  On 76 minutes Sanashee's cross was headed just wide from 8 yards by Maknin.  Final score 0-1.
