Match Report -  Saturday 31st January 2009

Wycombe Judo 0  v  Hambleden  0

Hambleden travelled to high flying Wycombe Judo last Saturday to avenge a 4-1 home defeat back in September.

Hambleden started brightly and had a chance as early as the 6th minute; a Steve Sanashee corner evaded everyone except Judo keeper, Jason Deans, who tipped the ball over.  Hambleden's midfield trio of Stuart Mcloed, Jamal Maknin and Matt Cook controlled the game and bossed Judo's midfield.

Adam Markwell and 'man of the match' Ryan Kemp, held firm at the back and Judo's prolific striker Michael Wilkins never had a shot all game.

Ross Hathaway, Hambleden's new keeper, had very little to do; saving a free-kick from Judo's Craig James on 30 minutes was the most noteworthy feat.

Matt Cook should have scored on 50 minutes but his shot from 20 yards was tipped over the bar.  Then substitute Chris Brunning's effort on 60 minutes bobbled as he shot and went just wide.

Another free-kick on 70 minutes from Judo's Chris Young was again comfortably saved by Hathaway.

Then on 83 minutes Maknin chose to shoot instead of passing to Chris Francis who would have been clean through.  Instead Maknin's effort from 18 yards went just over the bar.  Final score 0-0.

Hambleden travel to Little Chalfont to play AFC Amersham tomorrow (Saturday), kick-off 2pm.

TEAM: Hathaway, Rodrigues, Kemp, Markwell, North, Gordon (Francis 70), Maknin, Mcleod, Marcus Cook (Brunning 39), Matt Cook, Sanashee.  Sub not used : Hobson.
