Hambleden 1  v  Windsor Great Park 3

Hambleden's topsy-turvy season continued last Saturday, when they were dumped out of the Maidenhead Norfolkians Cup by a very average Windsor Great Park side, who fielded 2 players over 50 as substitutes!

Although Hambleden lost, they dominated for the majority of the time, but their end product lacked creativity and conviction.

Hambleden's striker Kenrick Gordon was put clean through on 10 minutes only to be scythed down on the edge of the box; the Windsor defender only received a yellow card, but took no further part as he injured himself in the challenge.  From the resulting free-kick, Stuart Mcleod shot over.

On 24 minutes Windsor broke up a Hambleden attack in midfield; the ball was played through for M.Thomas whose shot was well saved by keeper Michael Clarke, but his parry away fell kindly for Windsor striker M.Chambers to poke home from 6 yards.

On 30 minutes, Hambleden's other striker Steve Sanashee, was cautioned for a deliberate dive in the penalty area, and then a few minutes later Windsor were awarded a free kick inside their half.  The ball was then delivered into Hambleden's far post by B.Harris and his team mate, S.Ford headed in unchallenged.

Hambleden's woes continued when a serious gash to Hambleden captain Nikolai Lakovic's leg just before half time, meant a reshuffle at the break.  With no defenders on the bench, midfielder Ryan Kemp replaced the skipper in defence.

On 58 minutes Hambleden pulled a goal back following some good play down the right and a cross to the far post.  Chris Brunning's header was cleared from behind the goal line, but just in case Paul Rodrigues pounced and smashed the ball home.

On 65 minutes Hambleden had a chance to level; another free kick from 25 yards was put high and wide by Kemp.

Hambleden continued to squander more good chances until in the 80th minute Windsor's G.Thirwell beat the offside trap down the right; he cut inside and drilled the ball high into the roof at Clarke's near post.  Final score 1-3.

TEAM: Clarke, Francis, Hobson, Lakovic (R.Kemp 45), North, Brunning, Mcleod, Maknin (Matt Cook 81), Marcus Cook, Sanshee, Gordon (P.Rodrigues 57).
