Match Report -Sunday 19th October
Hambleden Wasps U13 vs AFC Hazlemere
5-2
On a glorious but rather cold Sunday morning, Hambleden played host to their Hazlemere guests in what turned out to be a very entertaining and hard fought match.
Despite going down 1-0 with only 5 minutes of the clock gone, Hambleden's U13 boys rallied to the task to secure their first league win of the season.
Hambleden were bolstered by the inclusion of Adam Mills at centre back and with the Hambleden captain Ben Palmer on top form, AFC found it difficult to penetrate a solid defence. AFC's early goal only helped to snap Hambleden out of their tired start and a great individual goal by new signing James Robson brought the scores level. Robson had his match of the season to date and went on to score a great hat-trick (possibly 4 !)
Hambleden played some of their best football this season with all the players competing well for the ball. The midfield players dominated possession and provided excellent service for the forwards. Hambleden's centre forward, Henry Earle A'Hern, caused the AFC defence major problems and helped himself to 2 excellent goals (possibly 1!).
Hambleden's Harry Ashcroft and Vinay Narang both showed excellent pace and had their best games of the season with some really good breaks.
With a few weeks break, Hambleden will be looking to add to this well deserved victory when they meet Bovingdon Juniors away on the 2nd November.
